Posted on Aug 9th, 2007 by Ramblin'H2O : Interaction Visionary Ramblin'H2O
Candace Pert, PhD, noted research scientist, will present the keynote address for the national convention of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA®) at the Boston Park Plaza, September 1, 2007 at 7 pm. Her speech, “The Secret of Being Present”, will focus on a discussion of the theories of the bodymind and ideas about the intersection between western science and the eastern traditions of meridians, energy psychology and energy medicine. Tickets are available for $40 per person.

Dr. Pert is best known for her opiate receptor, endorphin and peptide research. Her work is based on how the bodymind functions as a single psychosomatic network of information molecules which control our health and physiology. She is featured in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know!? and in Bill Moyer's PBS series Healing and the Mind. She is a former Research Professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Section Chief at the National Institute of Mental Health.

For more information or to purchase tickets, please contact AOBTA at 856.782.1616 or go to their website, aobta.org.

What, right now, do you most want?

Posted on Aug 24th, 2007 by Ramblin'H2O : Interaction Visionary Ramblin'H2O
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 24, 2007:

I want to cry. I want the day to be over. Today I have to take my beloved dog to the vet, it is time to release him from his pain... and me from mine. I know that death is just part of the cycle of life but it is still very painful and this is the third dog in a years time. The amount of death that has surrounded me over the last 13 months has been overwhelming, you might think I was getting use to it. Maybe I am, but each new death brings another shot of grief just to remind me that I am still here.

AOBTA Convention Starts for me

Posted on Aug 27th, 2007 by Ramblin'H2O : Interaction Visionary Ramblin'H2O
Well it is Monday, lots of running around to do today. I am packed with the exception of Beauxzeaux that incorrigible blow up clown, my camera and toiletries. I leave tomorrow for Boston. I have gone over everything twenty times, well at least if feels that way. I know it does not matter; it is inevitable, I will forget something anyway. I just hope it is not too important. I have a boat anchor of a computer, and if I can find a cord I will be able to upload photos. If not…oh well.

My speech is written, there will of course be some last minute tweaks to it. The Prezzy award is completed; List of peeps are in my head; Agendas written; Plans laid; so everything is set as far as I can. Now it is just rolling with the flow and the changes as they come up.

The tides are turning on all fronts. There is even a possibility that when I return we will be going to pick up a new 11 month old Newfie rescue puppy – one who is happy and most of all Healthy. The wind is blowing outside, perhaps it will rain, we had a sprinkle yesterday (a teaser?) we could really use some more, I think the Midwest has taken all of our rain this year.

Well, off to start my day then my travels. BZ will have updates and reports from the convention floor.
